TAPA APAC has observed that more than 50% of reported cargo crimes are linked to attacks on vehicles parked in insecure or unclassified parking areas. One contributing factor is the insufficient availability of secure truck parking spaces. According to TAPA APAC estimates, there is a demand for an additional 400,000 truck parking places at over 2,000 sites in the region.
TAPA APAC is actively engaged in elevating the prominence of secure parking places across the Asia Pacific region. The association aims to encourage more Parking Place Operators (PPOs) to adhere to a minimum standard of security, thus safeguarding drivers, vehicles, and cargo. The Association’s Parking Security Requirements (PSR) has been thoughtfully crafted in consultation with its Manufacturer & Shipper and Logistics Service Provider members to help PPOs understand the security expectations of truck parking place buyers. PPOs that meet TAPA APAC’s secure parking program’s various levels have their sites featured in the secure parking database accessible to members through the Association’s TAPA APAC Intelligence System. Presently, TAPA APAC provides visibility to secure parking places in 14 countries across the region.
As members of TAPA APAC, Parking Place Operators gain invaluable insights into the diverse range of supply chain attacks occurring in the region and familiarize themselves with the available supply chain security solutions to combat cargo crime effectively. Furthermore, they can establish direct connections with other members of the Association through networking opportunities.
Join a proactive community of over 600 member companies and partners in the APAC region to build supply chain resilience and sustainability.
